Solihull County Scout Council
Solihull County Scout Council Jamboree Team, approached
Pinnacle Challenge Limited in September 2006 when we started
looking into the possibility of a fundraising abseil in Solihull.
After some research we suggested pursuing the use of the
John Lewis Car Park, in the Touchwood Centre. Following several
meeting the relevant permission was granted and we set to, to create
the event with the Jamboree team. The event took place on the
24th March 2007 and was a great success, with 83 people abseiling
down the internal well of the building. We are awaiting the final figure,
however they should have raised in the region of £8000 to help send
Scouts from around the world to the World Scout Jamboree in the summer.
We are already talking to Solihull County Scout Council about a bigger and
better event for next year, we will keep you posted.
