Ecuador expedition report and

update of SARAID's current aid efforts in Indonesia.

We have just returned from a successful trip to Ecuador.

A team of 5 made up of Pinnacle Challenge staff, and SARAID volunteers successfully reached one 4000M+ summit, and two 4500M+ summits. The hardest route was Ruminahui South at 4696M, which included climbing very loose rock up to American grade 5.5.

Unfortunately we were unable to summit on Cotopaxi (5897M) due to adverse weather conditions, The team set off from the hut at 4800M at 1am on the 18th Dec, but a retreat was forced due to an avalanche at about 5700M.

We are still awaiting the final figure, but on top of loads of fun, we hope to have raised a few thousand pounds for SARAID, Who are currently in Sri Lanka, helping with the aid effort after the terrible earthquake late last year. See their website for more details.

Our thoughts go out to everyone who has lost loved ones due to this disaster.
