proved by this Lion mascot

during the 4SIGHT Abseil

in April 2006, contributing

to the total profit

of over £12,500 for the charity

Frequently asked questions about open abseils;

Q: Is there any way I can ABSEIL FOR FREE.
A: YES, Abseil for SARAID and raise over £75 in sponsorship
and they will give you your registration fee back on the day of the abseil.

Q: Where do I send my registration form?
A: Send your completed form with registration fee to
Pinnacle Challenge Limited, 22 Montague Road, Warwick, CV34 5LJ

Q: Must I pre-register or can I just turn up on the day?
A: You must pre-register, the sooner the better, if you turn up
expecting to sign up on the day you will probably be dissapointed.

Q: I have a dissability, can I still take part?
A: Yes, if it is physically possible, then we will let you abseil,
the best thing is talking to us then we can make a decision together.

Q: Do I have to raise money for charity?
A: Ultimately no you don't, but that would negate the purpose of the event,
If you don't like asking for sponsorship you caould always sign up
and make a donation to SARAID on the day.

Q: Can I keep the money for myself?
A: Of course you can, but we will be checking with all the charities
that have been supported that they have received the money.
At the end of the day it would be stealing from your friends and family.

Q: What If I've never abseiled before?
A: No problem, we will give you all the support and encouragenent
you need. You will be given full training on the day.

Q: Is abseiling safe?
A: Totally, You are abseiling on 1 rope and we control your descent on a
second rope, this means if you do anything wrong, our professional and
qualified instructors can take control.

Q: How old do I need to be?
A: You can climb and abseil from any age but for this event you must
be at least 14years old, all under 18s must have their registration form
countersigned by a parent/guardian who must be present at the abseil.

Q: What should I wear?
A: Compfortable clothes without too many dangly bits/tassles to get caught.
No Skirts or high heels. Shoes must be non marking and must not be able to fall off.

Q: Can I bring spectators?
A: Yes, bring your friends to watch, support and cheer,
being environmental, we would urge you to car share.

Q: Will the weather affect the abseil?
A: Not very often, you can abseil in all but the worst wind.

If there is lightning you are welcome on the roof, but our instructors
will definately run for cover and would ask you to do the same.

What previous participants have said about Pinnacle Challenge events;

"The event was very well organised and the

people doing the instruction were excellent, being both tactful and supportive in

their effort to get us through the event"

Mr Sayles - Worthing

"Please thank the gentlemen who were on the roof guiding and encouraging

us. They were so positive, supportive and just wonderful...I personally would

definitely not have made it down if it hadn't been for them"

Ann West -  West Sussex

“I took part in the SARAID abseil down BHS in Eastgate Street… I just

want to say a big thank you to you all for making the whole

event work so smoothly and safely. Especially to Paula, who was incredibly

professional and patient dealing with someone who was

absolutely petrified, as she gently convinced me that I could go over the

parapet and live!”

David - Gloucester
